PH Museum – FR-EE / fernando romero enterprise

The PH museum is a cultural project by FR-EE ( they have other really interesting architecture projects as well), the museum is designed for hot desert climates where its enveloping roof functions as a canopy, sheltering visitors from the heat.

Inspiration for this architecture was drawn from the complexities of a camera lens, which is represented in a circular form clad with a interweaving geometric pattern. This hexagonal pattern is similar to the weaving patterns of traditional straw hats, it is then propagated outwards from its core and radially along curved lines, increasing ever slightly in size as they move further away from the core.
