The Delaunay Raster is an original graphical art tool developed by Jonathan Puckey to create abstract versions of photographs. Puckey used the Delaunay triangulation algorithm (developed by Boris Delaunay: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delaunay_triangulation), that averages the colour within a triangle of handpicked points. Meshes from 3D modeling softwares like Rhinoceros are formed through this algorithm as well. The end result is a unique ‘abstract art-like’ graphic style.
A video link of the Delaunay Raster in action (http://vimeo.com/29594994) & several other rastered photographs, enjoy.
